Barbara De Prest (1972) graduated as an Interior Architect at Sint-Lucas Hogeschool. She designed open fires for Depuydt and worked for Flamant Interiors. She has more than 12 years of experience in restoration techniques (classical townhouses in Ghent), ancient painting and special decoration arts. She specialised in historical colours and designed printing stamps for traditional production of exclusive wallpaper.
She has also more than 10 years of experience in architectural scale models and plaster models. It took her about 6 years to realise an impressively detailed scale model of the famous tower of Plecznik. Her scale model of a decadent garden house for children makes most parents dreaming.
She contributed to the styling and colour design for different restaurants like Cafe Theatre and Mineral. In her recent work, she combines interior architecture for many private houses and small office buildings with the design of an own range of furniture and luxury objects.
Her ultimate ambition is increasing “la joie de vivre” with fully personalised interior designs, bringing beauty and inspiration in everyday’s life. Offering silence and intimacy as a permanent guest in the home. As a human answer on the aggressiveness of contemporary life.
